Our TV movie pick for tonight (Tuesday, 2 December) is Kiss of Death, the hugely entertaining and star-studded '90s thriller.
A remake of a classic '40s noir, the film stars David Caruso (NYPD Blue) as Jimmy Kilmartin, a reformed ex-convict in New York City trying to provide for his wife (Oscar-winner Helen Hunt, As Good As It Gets) and kids.
One day, however, Jimmy's cousin Ronnie (Michael Rapaport, Cop Land) approaches him, desperately needing his help in moving stolen cars. The job goes sideways, and Jimmy is sentenced to prison again.
After several more years in the pen, a district attorney (Oscar-nominee Stanley Tucci, Spotlight) and an NYPD detective (Oscar-nominee Samuel L. Jackson, Pulp Fiction) offer Jimmy a deal.
He will be sprung from prison if he agrees to go undercover and help nail the murderous crime lord Little Junior Brown (Oscar-winner Nicolas Cage, Pig).
"But Little Junior won't go down without a fight," the plot synopsis adds.

Kiss of Death was directed by Barbet Schroeder (Single White Female) and was written by acclaimed novelist Richard Price (The Night Of).
Its cast also includes Anthony Heald (The Silence of the Lambs), Hope Davis (The Daytrippers), Philip Baker Hall (Boogie Nights) and Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction).
While generally liked by critics upon release in 1995, the movie did not perform well at the box office.
This is a shame because the film's gritty atmosphere, twisty crime plot and scene-stealing villainous turn from Nic Cage as a highly muscular psychopathic gangster - first introduced onscreen bench pressing his girlfriend - makes it well worth seeking out.
The 1995 version of Kiss of Death is airing on TV tonight on the channel Legend at 9pm. It is currently not available to rent or stream in Ireland, so be sure to watch or record it this evening.
