Vine: College football player mistimes his jump later than any mistimed jump we’ve ever seen

We’ve all done it. You get caught out of position by a ball over the top so you make a late, half hearted jump to make it look to the manager on the sideline that you know what you are doing. They know, and you know, that you haven’t a clue what you’re doing.

Goalkeepers do it too, diving long after the ball is gone past them to make it look like they were just beaten by a belter. Again, you’re fooling no one.

But the new king of this genre is University of Houston defender Trevon Stewart. Playing against BYU last night, Stewart completely lost his man and the ball on a long throw. BYU’s Mitchell Juergens collected the ball easily, followed by Stewart attempting to catch an imaginary ball long after the real ball was safely in the receiver’s arms.
