Summer finally returns to Ireland this weekend

It feels like the sunny weather completely forgot about Ireland so far this summer, but temperatures are (finally) set to soar this weekend.

This is likely the only glimpse of good weather we’ll get on the Emerald Isle this summer so start planning last-minute barbeques and trips to Bray.

According to Met Éireann, temperatures could reach highs of 23 degrees over the weekend.

Saturday will be a day of sunny spells and higher temperatures, according to the most recent forecast.

However, some areas in the West will see cloudier conditions as well as patchy light rain during the day.

Met Éireann confirmed: “Sunny spells in the east at first tomorrow, Saturday, but cloudier conditions in the west will gradually extend eastwards through the morning and early afternoon along with patchy light rain and drizzle. Brighter and drier intervals will spread from the west during the evening.”

On Saturday, temperatures will range from 16 to 21 degrees.

On Sunday, conditions are set to remain sunny and dry across the country. The highest temperatures will range from 18 to 23 degrees in mostly light southwesterly or variable breezes.

The warm weather will likely stick around until early next week with forecasters confirming temperatures could be as high as 24 degrees on Monday, June 24th.

“A warm day on Monday with sunny spells. A few showers will likely develop in the afternoon. Highest temperatures 20 to 24 degrees generally in light southerly breezes.”

If anyone needs us we’ll be rummaging through our wardrobes for those summer dresses we bought in May when we forgot how temperamental Irish weather can be.
