One of the best serial killer thrillers ever is among the movies on TV tonight

Just one more day to Halloween!

It is All Hallows Eve Eve. You’re probably in the mood for a spooky movie this evening, right? Well, good news, there are some on the telly tonight!

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part One – Sky Showcase – 9pm
The director came out recently to announce regret about splitting the final Hunger Games book into two movies. Despite feeling like a little bit of padding, there isn’t a huge amount here that we’d necessarily cut out ahead of the climax.

Dragged Across Concrete – TG4 – 9.30pm
Vince Vaughn and Mel Gibson star in this very violent crime thriller about two suspended cops who head into the world of criminality in order to keep their income flowing.

Air America – Legend – 10pm
Mel Gibson again, this time paired with Robert Downey Jr. in a Vietnam War action drama. It is quite a bad movie, truth be told.

Se7en – Virgin Media One – 10pm

Our main pick for the night is Se7en, a tremendous serial killer thriller from David Fincher, who happens to have a brand new movie in cinemas this week. Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman star as a pair of detectives trying to hunt down a man who is violently murdering people, with each attack tied to one of the seven deadly sins. If you miss it on TV tonight, Se7en is also available to watch on Prime Video in Ireland and the UK right now.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – FilmFour – 10pm
The fourth one. The worst one.

Cobra – ITV4 – 10pm
Sly Stallone tries his hand at gritty crime thrillers. It doesn’t go well for him. Or for us.

Waves – BBC Three – 11pm
A very emotional drama about a family collectively trying to recover for a massive personal tragedy.

D-Tox – ITV4 – 11.50pm
The second terrible Stallone movie of the night, this time a serial killer thriller set within the confines of an isolated detox clinic, alongside a very impressive cast list including Tom Berenger, Charles S. Dutton, Robert Patrick, Stephen Lang, Jeffrey Wright, Courtney B. Vance and Kris Kristofferson.

The Howling – Legend – 12.10am
The iconic werewolf movie featuring some incredible transformation special effects.

Terminator: Salvation – FilmFour – 12.45am
The one set in the war-ruined future, with Christian Bale, Sam Worthington and Anton Yelchin. Not as bad as you’d heard. Not as good as it could’ve been.
