New Irish tech publishing spin-off to create 25 jobs
Folens, the well-known Irish educational publisher, has announced plans to create a new digital arm with the creation of 25 jobs in Dublin.
Folens will be establishing Apierian, which will focus on high-tech online and mobile learning publishing.
Headed up by Brian Halpin, who is currently Folens Group Product Director, Apierian has already been investing in the development of a new range of educational products which it describes as “learner-centric, personalised and adaptive”.
Announcing the development, John Cadell, the Group Managing Director of Folens, said, “We are hugely aware of the significance of adding jobs of value to the economy and are thrilled to be announcing the creation of 25 high-tech, highly skilled jobs today.
“The creation of this new company has been planned for some time and is a testament to Folens long term vision for the future of Irish education. We are all looking forward to bringing together our experience in creating quality educational content with our investments in education technology to help more learners reach their potential.”
Half of the jobs will be created by the summer of 2013 with the rest to follow by 2015, bringing the total number of employees within the Folens Group to more than 100.
