PayPal creates 200 new jobs in Dublin

It has been announced that the online payment company PayPal will create 200 new jobs in Blanchardstown.

The positions that are being created are in customer service and operations at the company’s European centre in Blanch. PayPal, which set up shop in Ireland in 2003, employs more than 1,350 in its Blanchardstown centre.

Earlier this year the company announced a 150 jobs boost for its rapidly-growing European business, but the nice folks in PayPal decided an extra 200 jobs was what we needed. Thanks lads.

"PayPal has grown substantially in Ireland since it began here in 2003 and this is the second new jobs announcement we’ve had this year alone," said spokesperson Louise Phelan.

"This announcement is a testament to the excellent work and commitment of our current employees.

"We have gone from strength to strength since the official opening of our Centre of Excellence here in Blanchardstown two years ago. I would also like to thank the IDA for their continued support.”

Fianna Fáil Councillor, David McGuinness told 98FM: “What I noticed from the PayPal website is some of the jobs they opened up recently in the year have not been filled, that is a worrying sign, especially given the difficult times so my message would be contact PayPal, get your information to them and see if they can work with you.”
