Video: Aviva Premiership try of the year
The Aviva Premiership doesn’t get too much attention over here, but their try of the year winner, announced yesterday, should get some.
Over the weekend we brought you the all-in brawl that was the highlight of Bob Casey’s last game for London Irish. That clash was against Gloucester and the Cherry and White side feature again today, but for a much better reason.
The annual end of year awards were handed out this week in the Aviva Premiership and while Chris Robshaw (Harlequins) picked up the Player of the Year and Owen Farrell (Saracens) landed the young player gong, it was the try of the year that caught our eye.
Scored by Gloucester centre Jonny May, it came against Harlequins in February. From the dancing feet to the burst of pace, it is a real quality score, even if some of the tackling is a bit weak.
May’s try is at 0.32 of the attached video but stay with it until the end as Harlequins full-back Ross Chisolm scores a cracker himself in consolation at the end.
