Politician wants Limerick Council to bag her saucy knickers
A female Limerick councillor got her City Council colleagues' hearts racing last night in the chamber as she told them to move heaven and earth to bag her knickers.
Orla McLoughlin stunned her fellow councillors when she broached the issue of getting Marks & Spencer to open a shop in the city, which is apparently a big priority of hers.
During a debate she urged the council to do everything they can to attract the retailer to the town, because she really, really likes their underwear.
Orla said: "I am a lady. I like clothes in all shops. But in particular I like the lingerie section in Marks & Spencer. It has a certain 'Je ne sais quoi'."
If you think this is all a bit off-the-wall then take a look at Orla's family tree. She's the daughter of newly-elected mayor, Gerry McLoughlin. The former Irish rugby international claimed yesterday that the city chould set about translating all its street signs into Polish.
Gerry took his daughter's suggestion lightly, responding in jest: "you will have to explain to me what 'Je ne sais quoi' means, Orla."
Let's just hope Orla gets her undergarment needs sorted or her father will have hell to pay.
