The video above shows the heated and emotional scenes as two pensioners were evicted from their Killiney home yesterday afternoon.

Brendan and Asta Kelly had a €2 million mortgage with the former Anglo Irish Bank and were served with a repossession order almost two years ago. The sheriff went to take possession of the five-bedroom house yesterday and a aggravated standoff ensued.

Brendan, who's 71, stood firmly against the sheriff and accused them of having no legal right to take the house.

The pair were eventually removed from the property, but have taken up residence in a tent outside the house.

The Kellys used to run a business, called Irland Haus, in north Germany selling Irish textiles.
