Video: Cork humiliate Kerry in Munster under-21 decider
Watch highlights of Cork’s comprehensive Munster under-21 final victory over Kerry and interviews with Rebel manager John Cleary, captain Aidan Walsh and man of the match Barry O’Driscoll.
Cork 2-24 - Kerry 0-8
The look of devastation on the faces of Kerry players proved impossible to hide as the crowd at Páirc Uí Rinn asked: 'When was the last time a Kerry team conceded 2-24 in a Munster final?'
By the time John Kennedy's side opened their account with a James Donoghue free kick, the Kingdom lay in ruins after conceding 2-2 in seven minutes with Barry O'Driscoll and Donal Óg Hognett finding the net for the Leesiders.
Cork led 2-13 to 0-3 at the interval with some fine performances from Mark Collins, Ciaran Sheehan and Aidan Walsh. Sheehan and Collins opened the scoring after the restart, but Kerry who were working on damage limitation at this stage, produced four unanswered points.
Cork regrouped and hit eight points in a row and to prove even further it was never going to be Kerry's night; they failed to take advantage of a penalty awarded in the dying minutes.
Wexford 1-9 – 0-11 Longford
In the Leinster under-21 provincial decider last night, Wexford claimed their first ever title at the grade with a one-point victory over Longford thanks to a late point from midfielder from Michael O’Regan.
