This mock-up of Liverpool's horrific new third kit must be fake, right?

17/06/2012 1:20 pm

When the previously unheard of Lacrosse equipment specialists Warrior Sports signed an English club record kit deal with Liverpool, fans were delighted. Yet if this third kit mock-up is legit...

The Michigan-based equipment and apparel manufacturers are new to the football kit business and having taking over from Liverpool's previous suppliers Adidas, expectations were huge.

Having already released a pleasingly retro home kit for the Reds and a dubious black away jersey that resembles a wetsuit, fans were unsure of what to expect from a previously confirmed third kit offering.

Whatever they were expecting, not even the world's most die-hard Manchester United supporter could have conjured up a bright purple, neon orange and grey tribal design kit below.

Take a look at a mock-up which a source from Who Ate All The Pies? claims is "99 per cent accurate" and try to refrain from vomiting inside your own mouth:

With no exaggeration, that could be the worst thing JOE.ie has ever, ever seen. It simply can't be real - can it?

Considering that rumours of this kit's colour scheme stretch back to the end of April and are nearly identical, we're afraid that yes, this clown-style effort could indeed be the real deal.

Suddenly Manchester United's new shortbread tin-resembling home jersey looks like a work of act by comparison...
