Some Manchester City fans are risking the perils of premature celebration, it seems
We know that beating QPR at home isn’t exactly the most difficult of tasks, but have Manchester City supporters never heard of a jinx?
You wouldn’t think it to look at some the scarves that were on sale in Manchester today celebrating Roberto Mancini’s side as Premier League Champions and openly mocking their crosstown rivals Manchester United, who have all but thrown away the title in recent weeks.
Pictures of the scarves (like the ones below) did the rounds on Twitter today and were instantly met with anxious City fans fearing a jinx and conversely, some unprintable replies from United fans.

Superstitious City fans are likely to have their worries eased around 5pm tomorrow if everything goes to plan, by which time the so-called noisy neighbours will be more than happy to rub their success firmly in the noses of United fans.
Besides, it’s not as if United aren’t familiar with the art of premature celebration. BetFred, run by well known Red Devils supporter Fred Done, lost nearly a million quid after paying out on United as Premier League winners when they looked home and hosed last month.
We don't envisage that City fans will be forced into a similarly embarrassing climbdown tomorrow, but you never know...
