Video: The only good thing about the X-Factor last night was this lady's foul-mouthed rant at the judges
For the majority of men, yesterday was brilliant because the Premier League returned. On the flip side, so did the X-Factor.
We’ve no doubt that many of our male readers secretly, maybe even openly, enjoy sitting down to watch the glorified karaoke contest on a Saturday night and will gladly pretend that their better halves force them to watch it on every Saturday between now and Christmas.
While it can be quite hard to watch thousands of people struggle manfully in their attempts to become the next *wince* Joe McElderry or *double wince* Alexandra Burke – both of whom have gone on to have, eh, sterling careers – the show has does have the odd plus point or two. Nicole Scherzinger is one, another is the ever-present capacity of some of the contestants to lose the canopy and make fools of themselves on television.
Last night, a female Pink wannabe called Zoe Alexander stepped into the void and launched a foul-mouthed tirade at the judges after they told her she wasn’t going to make the cut. Zoe was then joined on stage by her father – who, hilariously, is a Tom Jones impersonator – and together they continued to give the judges hell for daring to criticise what were, in fairness, two fairly bog-standard attempts at singing a song.
We’ve more than a sneaking suspicion that the whole thing was stage managed in an attempt to liven up proceedings, but it’s fairly dramatic nonetheless.
Check it out for yourself in the video above.

Alexandra Burke has had the same problem with airplay with her last singles. Not sure what to think about that considering her music is definitely suited for radio airplay...
by the way: THEIR names
