Hear about the free four-day music festival in Dublin next month?

The Tall Ships Race returns to Dublin in August and it won’t be just a load of medieval ship – there will be music too. Lots of it. And it’s all free.

The Bulmers Live Music Stage will be erected at George’s Dock throughout the four days of the Tall Ships Festival from Thursday-Sunday, 23-26 August.

The stage will feature lots of the very best of Irish musical talent, including Ash, Cathy Davey, The Undertones, Duke Special, Ryan Sheridan, The Minutes, Delorentos, Jerry Fish and the Dublin Gospel Choir.

And the music will not be confined to the stage down by the river, either – there’s also a Bulmers Live Music Trail planned, which will see loads of sessons (the musical kind...) take place at pubs around the city.

Bulmers also sponsor the Forbidden Fruit and Body and Soul music festivals, among others, and sponsorship manager Marcus Goodwin (pictured top with models Adrienne Murphy and Holly Carpenter) said, “It’s great to be back for The Tall Ships Races and once again, Bulmers is doing its bit by helping to bring free live music to Dublin.

“With one million people expected in Dublin for the four-day event, there’s going to be a brilliant party atmosphere, combining the visually stunning ships with free, live music all over the city.

“We’re really excited by the range of awesome acts that will take to the Bulmers Live Music stage in August and where else can you see so many great bands performing in one place, over one weekend.  We also hope that people will get onboard the Bulmers Live Music Trail and enjoy the incredible musical talent that will perform in various Dublin’s pubs.  It’s live, it’s free and music is part of our cultural DNA, so the countdown to 23rd August is most definitely on.”

Living up to his water-dwelling name, singer-songwriter Jerry Fish added, “The Liffey runs through my veins and I can think of nothing more gorgeous than Dublin Bay brimming with Tall Ships. I am thrilled to the gills to be playing at The Tall Ships Races in Dublin on August 23rd.”

And it won’t be just music and a spot or two of Bulmers – there will also be food too, with the Food Theatre at Linear Park featuring food demonstrations and displays, artisan food produce and food markets showcasing Irish and international cuisine throughout the few days.
