Have you ever cast a forlorn glance at your canine companion and just wished that he could communicate with you in a way that you could actually understand?

Wouldn’t it be amazing if Fido could tell you how he feels? Or what if he could share his deepest thoughts with you? OR what if he somehow magically sprouted opposable thumbs from his doggy paws and was suddenly able to text you? That would be pretty amazing, right?

But what sort of stuff would he text you? Would he use proper English or text language? Would he be one of those annoying ‘omg-text-me-back-nowww!’ people? There are so many questions…

Thankfully we don’t have to hurt our brains by trying to comprehend the mechanics behind getting a dog to text, or just what a dog would say if he were suddenly in the possession of a mobile phone. Why? Well, someone has already gone to the trouble of pondering this crazy thought for us. And, more importantly, they’ve dedicated a website to the concept of receiving texts from your pet dog.

Yes, you may already be familiar with the hilarious Texts From Dog because at the minute, it’s having something of a “moment” on Facebook and Twitter. It’s also just gained Meme status, which means that it’s becoming pretty popular and soon, you won’t be able to escape it. In fact, it’s probably easier to just get swept up in this phenomenon right now to save some time.

Anyway, what is Texts From Dog? Well, deciphering the cryptic title of this website, it’s safe to say that it is a site which focuses on text messages from a dog.

The owner of Texts From Dog (or TFD, if you want to be all “cool” and “hip”) decided that he/she would start to share the strange texts that they receive from their dog on a daily basis. Naturally enough, these conversations are fictional (boo!) but if you go along with the premise of the website and pretend that it actually is a real text message from a real dog, it’s pretty funny.

The dog in question provides witty rapport with his human counterpart, constantly bugging his owner with stupid questions or requests – his favourite request seems to be that his owner buys him a cape so he can become a “BATDOG!” Interesting.

It’s also pretty hilarious that the dog in question seems to have an iPhone, but then again, if you were trying to text without any thumbs, a touchscreen phone would probably be a handy thing to have.

He’ll probably just eat it. And then you’ll have to take him to the vet and comfort him while the vet shoves a cold thermometer up his arse. Nobody wants that.

Anyway, Texts From Dog is the perfect place to go to if you have an hour or two to kill. It’ll keep you entertained, and if anything, it will make you very grateful for the fact that your own mutt can’t actually talk or text you.
