Pic of the Day: Will Ferrell wearing a retro Irish football jersey is kind of a big deal
We have no idea why Will Ferrell was wearing a retro Irish football jersey in Miami Beach yesterday, but we like it all the same.
According to WorldIrish.com, Ferrell was one of a number of celebrities invited to Art Basel, the largest contemporary-art fair in the US, yesterday and he chose to pay homage to the old country by donning one of our favourite old Irish soccer jerseys, an Eircom-sponsored garment from sometime around the 2004 – 2006 era.

It wouldn’t be the first time that Ferrell has worn an Irish jersey in public of course, as he was spotted wearing an Irish rugby jersey – not exactly the real thing, mind – on a visit to Ireland a few years back and on social occasions in the States since.

There’s a lot of talk about The Gathering over here of late, but what better way to market Ireland as a tourist destination than have Will Ferrell constantly bigging up our national teams to a worldwide audience.
You stay classy, Will.
