Every year the hats at Royal Ascot get weirder and weirder, but this year's crop of barmey barnets took the cake. Have you ever seen the Olympic flame talking to an English Subbuteo table?

Yesterday was ladies day and with the sporting year that's in it a Olympics themed hat it may not sound too weird. However looking at the fruits of these women's millinery labour you'd have to wonder about their sanity.

Thankfully the Olympic torch and the football pitch got on like a house on fire (or should that be pitch?) at Ascot, where the actual Olympic torch also made an appearance.
